  1. 1. About program
  2. ================
  3. This program is designed for the observation and analysis of 
  4. dynamic phenomena, captured by the digital images.
  5. These phenomena become very often in different engineers' 
  6. applications, such as the observation of effects in 
  7. hydrodynamic and aerodynamic, different areas of chemical 
  8. engineering, different areas of process technologies, etc.
  9. Common to all these applications is that their features are 
  10. expressed by significant visual effects, so that they can be 
  11. observed using image analysis technology in time.
  12. The DYNASCAN is the tool which helps the researchers to 
  13. quantify these effects in the time domain. For example, it is 
  14. possible to generate the time series from characteristic of 
  15. images and to analyse these time series in different ways. 
  16. Also, it is possible to make other image transformations that 
  17. observed effects can be more visible and that they can be more 
  18. acceptable for further quantification of images.
  19. The results of this analysis can be used for the description 
  20. of characteristic of processes, from which images have been 
  21. derived.
  22. For this purpose, the program supports the generation and work 
  23. with file series which consists of a high number of images. 
  24. File series is group of files which describes the observed 
  25. processes by digital images.
  26. The files in file series are numbered by the last 4 characters 
  27. in the filename, so that maximal 4 characters are used for 
  28. name and the last 4 characters are used for index, for 
  29. example: TEST0001.BMP, TEST0002.BMP, etc.
  30. There are available functions for automatic numbering of 
  31. files, transformations of complete file series, etc. 
  32. Also, it is possible to measure different parameters manually, 
  33. based on user selected scale.

  35. The program supports two types of video frame grabbers, 
  36. PCVIDEO-I and PCVIDEO-II, manufactured by Motion Technologies 
  37. Inc. However, you can also analyse the images which are 
  38. captured by other video frame grabbers if these images are 
  39. stored in BMP image format.

  51. This program is a shareware product. Each user has 30 days 
  52. evaluation period from date of first installation (see section 
  53. 8).

  65. =======================
  66. Program needs Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher operating 
  67. system.
  68. Suggested computer is Pentium with minimal 8 Mb RAM. However,
  69. you can also run this program on 486 machines. About disk 
  70. space: if you work with file series it is normal that you have 
  71. a few hundred megabytes free space on disk. The program needs 
  72. around 3 Mb free disk space for its running.

  76. This is a beta version of program. If there is any unknown bug 
  77. in the program, the author has not any responsibility for 
  78. eventually problems on your computer caused by this program.

  81. ===============
  82. This program is a shareware product. You can free use and test 
  83. it for a time period of 30 days from date of your first 
  84. installation. After this period the program will run normally, 
  85. but if you need this product you must register it formally.
